December 2018 Vision Board Workshop
I literally have no words to describe our December 2018 Good Vibes and Chill Vision Board Workshop but I’m going to try to sum it up as best as I can. It was truly incredible to say the least. Thank you to all of that came through The Lit Bar on Sunday, December 9th. It was a pleasure for Vida and I to have you and be able to do this workshop again.
This annual workshop is truly a personal vision manifested and you all are a testament to that. I remember last year after the first vision board workshop I shared on my Insta-stories that it would be amazing to be able to do this again next year and have it sponsored by Cafe Bustelo since we love their cafesito so much. As you know I am an ambassador for the brand and I was floored when they asked me to be an ambassador again for 2018 as well as be part of my Good Vibes & Chill events. I cried at the airport reading that email because it meant soooo much to me! I’ve been very adamant about only working with brands that align with my mission and core values and Cafe Bustelo is just that! They have been bringing together our Latin community over a cup of cafesito for years and have always been huge supporters of community initiatives that celebrate our authentic sabor latino much like Good Vibes & Chill. THANK YOU for being part of something that is so near and dear to my heart Cafe Bustelo. You have officially made this latina bloggers dream come true!
I loved that we were able to support the community by hosting it at the Bronx’s only bookstore, The Lit Bar. If you’re not following Noëlle on her entrepreneur journey as she gets ready to launch our favorite bookstore and chill you are truly missing out. We had the honor to experience the Lit Bar before it opened to the public and we are so thankful to Noëlle and her staff. Stay tuned for more updates on the Lit Bar and their grand opening soon.
There were so many special moments during the workshop but I will quickly share my top three.
1. Watching you all connect in a meaningful and authentic way
There were so many “sparkly” connections as my friend Raygrid would say. It warmed my heart to see so many of you connect to each others in a meaningful and authentic way. I know a lot of genuine friendships were formed from this event and I look forward to seeing the blossom over the years. This is how you build a sisterhood. This is how you build community!
2. All the gratitude displayed for your current personal and future life
It’s so easy to beat ourselves up about our past and the things we did or didn’t do in life, but so many of you choose gratitude and I can’t express how beautiful that is. Not only did you show gratitude for where you are in your life but you also showed that same grace to others who so openly shared their experiences and stories during our time together. Thank you.
I know a lot of you came to the workshop not expecting to be vulnerable or to open up so freely to strangers but you did so anyway and for that I thank you. I put a lot of work into these events so that they can feel like a safe space where you can feel seen and understood. I know being vulnerable is not easy. It’s often interpreted as weakness when in actuality it is far from that. Vulnerability is actually our greatest measure of courage. It is at the core center of meaningful human experiences and that is what makes Good Vibes & Chill so special.
Thank you to all of you who invested in yourselves yesterday and showed up to honor your goals, dreams, and desires. Thanks for all the hugs and soulful chats over a cup of cafesito. My heart was so incredibly full. I seriously cannot believe that this is my job. It feels so amazing to do something so fulfulling. THANK YOU!
Vida, I’m honored to do this work beside you. Thank you for sharing your gifts with our community. Venesia, Carlos, Julie and Julissa thank you for all of your help with the event. You are the ultimate dream team! Thanks for the amazing catered food Next Stop Vegan and Delish By Cyb (Cynthia). Next time I’ll be sure to order extra so we can all have seconds! It was delicious. Noëlle and the amazing team at The Lit Bar, we are so excited for your journey and promise to support every step of the way. Last but not least, Milli THANK YOU for all of the amazing images. I loved watching you doing what you love, but most importantly I loved watching you and your mom bond in this special way. I hope putting a vision board together with her is a memory you will always cherish!
See you all on January 26th, 2019 for our second sold-out vision board workshop. For those of you who do not live in the tri-state area stay tuned! I’ll be releasing the virtual workbook soon so you all can put your vision boards together at home. Thanks for all the love and support.
